Representative for Texas's 6th congressional district
I started a client-service internship with Saxum in January of this year. I primarily work with Oklahoma-focused public affairs clients.
With these clients, my day-to-day responsibilities include creating agendas for internal and external meetings, creating and distributing daily media reports, and managing client communications.
During my time as an account lead with Lindsey + Asp, I worked with Dress for Success to develop the materials for their annual fundraising gala "More than a Dress."
I led a team of five students: 1 creative director, 2 social media directors, 1 writer, and 1 web designer. I was responsible for coordinating weekly communications with the client team which included creating agendas, running the meetings, and writing summary reports. I also kept us to the agreed timeline for deliverables.
During my time as an account lead with Lindsey + Asp, I worked with OU's Innovation Hub to get a concept for student networking events off the ground. I was responsible for coordinating twice-weekly communications with the client team which included creating agendas, running the meetings, and writing summary reports.
I led a team of five students: 1 creative director, 2 social media directors, 1 writer, and 1 web designer. Because the nature of this work was more event-planning based, I also helped set expectations for each person for what the scope of their work would be. Though we didn't have tangible deliverables, we did plan and execute six different networking events over the course of the semester. Each event had a speaker, refreshments, and communication tactics.
As an intern for Lilly & Company in Austin, TX, I specifically worked in fundraising and event planning for CDR. Jake Ellzey's Congressional Campaign.
I planned a major fundraising event in Fort Wort, TX for the campaign just two weeks before the election. This positioned the event as a pep rally for the election and one of the final fundraising opportunities for the campaign. I created the invite, ordered catering, booked the venue, scheduled speakers, and coordinated day-of operations with the audio/visual team as well as managing the check-in table for donors and, after the event, following up with thank-you cards. We had over 200 attendees at the event, many of whom took home yard signs to bolster awareness for Ellzey's election.
I'm happy to say that he won the election a couple weeks later and is continuing to serve the people of Texas's 6th congressional district.
